MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – Kelly Rogers, inpatient oncology unit, was recently named University Healthcare Berkeley Medical Center’s Quality Service Award winner for March 2015.
Each month, the hospital’s Service Award Committee selects an employee to receive the Quality Service Award. Rogers, an advanced patient care tech, was selected because she went above and beyond to make a patient’s spouse feel special.
“My husband passed away at 10 pm and Ms. Rogers was working at the time,” wrote the spouse. “She helped me pack up my belongings and transported them to the front lobby door. She then went out of her way to make sure my car was cleared of ice that had formed, and later called me a home to make sure I have gotten home okay.”
Criteria for selection as a Quality Service Award recipient includes: demonstrating a consistently high level of productivity and quality of work along with a high degree of initiative in performing work responsibilities, displaying exceptional dependability, exhibiting effective relationships with others, displaying a commitment to service and serving the Berkeley Medical Center community, and meeting the criteria for the University Healthcare mission, vision and values.
Nomination forms for the Quality Service Award are available at locations throughout the Berkeley Medical Center campus. Anyone who witnesses an employee displaying outstanding service is encouraged to complete and submit a nomination form
