36th Annual Apple Trample 5k, Training Program

8/17/2015

MARTINSBURG, W.VA. – It’s time to get ready for the 36th Annual Apple Trample 5k on Saturday, October 17, 2015.  The Apple Trample provides an excellent opportunity right in our backyard to do your first 5k or work on your 5k time.  The Apple Trample is a long standing tradition, part of a larger community event that celebrates the history and heritage of our area. What better time to take on a personal challenge.

The Wellness Center at Berkeley Medical Center and Two Rivers Treads, in conjunction with a grant received by Healthy Berkeley, are offering a 0 to 5k Training Program to help you train for your first 5k or improve your time.  The training program will be held at 5:30pm every Wednesday beginning August 26 until October 15 at War Memorial Park in Martinsburg.

There is a $25 fee for the program if you are registered for the Apple Trample 5k.  This training program will give you the opportunity to get in shape, gain cardiovascular endurance, improve running or walking form and/or improve your time so you are ready for this year’s Apple Trample 5k.

The 36th Apple Trample 5k is set for October 17. The walkers will start at 10:30am and runners at 11:30am. The start will be at The Wellness Center at Berkeley Medical Center and the finish will be at the Martinsburg High School Track. The race follows the parade route through downtown Martinsburg.
