Inspired by the desire to elevate its standard of care and instill confidence in the community it serves, Jefferson Memorial Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for accreditation by meeting or exceeding The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety in hospitals.

For the exemplary efforts in improving the level of care provided, Jefferson Medical Center was named one of the nation’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures for 2012 by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations in America.

Through patient-centered teamwork, the staff at Jefferson Memorial Hospital has received a Best Practice Award from Highmark for the Overall Highest Heart Failure Defect-Free Care Rate for the fiscal year 2011 program year.

Jefferson Memorial Hospital has been recognized by Highmark QualityBLUE for its commitment to improving patient care. As a participant in the QualityBLUE Hospital Pay for Performance program, we attained the Maximum Achievement level by ensuring patients receive the high level of care they need.

With the addition of our new Selenia Dimensions digital mammography machine, Jefferson Memorial Hospital has been awarded accreditation in Digital Mammography by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The first of its kind in the state, the machine produces 3D images that are changing the way we treat breast cancer.

Jefferson Medical Center’s laboratory has been awarded accreditation by the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), making it one of more than 7,000 CAP-accredited laboratories worldwide that adheres to the highest standards of safety and equipment management.

As a designated Level IV Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons, our trauma center boasts a full array of basic emergency department facilities, a well-trained staff and 24-hour laboratory services.
