Physician Joins Martinsburg Ophthalmology Practice

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. –
Mark Promersberger, MD, recently announced the addition of Tamim Qaum, MD, a board certified ophthalmologist, to Martinsburg Eye Associates at 2002 Professional Court in Martinsburg.

Dr. Qaum, who is a member of the Berkeley Medical Center medical staff, comes to Martinsburg from Wichita, Kansas where he worked as an ophthalmologist at the Via Christi Clinic and the Robert J. Dole Veterans Administration Medical Center. 

A native of the United Kingdom, Dr. Qaum received his medical degree with honors in ophthalmology from Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts and completed his residency training in ophthalmology at Duke University Eye Center in Durham, North Carolina. 

While in Wichita, Dr. Qaum received numerous awards including the first annual Health Care Hero Award from the Wichita Business Journal and the inaugural Light of Faith Humanitarian Award from Inter-Faith Ministries.  He also received a formal commendation from Kansas Governor Sam Brownback for research on a therapy that has helped prevent blindness in over two million people worldwide.
